Reviews: BIOTEN HYALURONIC TISSUE MASK

Hello cotton candies!
Today I am right here, with my first review on Bioten Hyaluronic Tissue Mask.

This post is not sponsored, therefore I am going to share my sincere unbiased opinion.

In general I have been a little sceptical around tissue moisturizing masks, I always believed they provide a very satisfying hydrating effect but so does a concentrated moisturizing cream so in my humble opinion, it is a good option, nice (temporary) result but not value-for-money.

However, I keep an open mind on products and I decided to give a shot on Bioten Hyaluronic Tissue Mask which claims to be a revitalising, nourishing and firming effect with all day Hydration and Skin Radiance.

*Just for the credits, my mom bought this tissue mask for me because she thinks my skin needs some extra care lately since I barely sleep due to studies and lack of sun - polar winter problems*

So to begin with:

Application wise, the tissue mask was folded so I had to be a little careful not to rip it. Other than that, the mask was veeeeery moist and cold, therefore provided a very refreshing sensation from the first second i put it on. I used my finger tips on circular motion to position the tissue mask appropriately and help my skin absorb the moisturizer.

For some reason, ''The Phantom of the Opera'' plays in my head when i look at this picture

The instruction sheet recommends to leave the mask on for approx. 15 minutes. Since the moisturizer on the mask is a leave-in product (which means you don't need to wash it off), i let it on for around 25 minutes and then massaged gently with CLEAN hands, again on circular motion to enhance the product absorption.

Here is the final result, right after removing the tissue mask and massaging my skin. No make up, no filter.

And a close up:

Final Thoughts:

All in all, the mask was very effective in terms of skin refreshment and moisturizing, but this was kind of expected. I slept right after the application and I was really impressed by the radiance, smoothness and shine on my skin the following morning. My skin was very hydrated and firm without being oily, the skin pores were not dilated (as it happens usually the day-after moisturizing treatments) and I didn't even need a primer underneath my make up, as the skin was extra even and smooth on its own. The extra crush test was that I was travelling for over 15 hours that day, changed 3 planes and had my make up on for over 18 hours but my skin didn't lose its hydration and elasticity and my make up stayed mostly in place the whole day. Here you can see how I looked the day after the mask:

Your Questions: Make up at the GYM?

Hello sweet strawberries and welcome back!

One more *upon-request* article concerning questions around make up at the gym.

First of all, I don't think that one's concern should be make up before hitting the gym, however, as a person who goes training after work or university, 99% of the times i have full face make up on and I absolutely understand the challenges upon experience.

Training is a heat-release procedure which in turn makes the skin secrete sweat and due to the trapped pores, the face ends up oily and can potentially cause acne outbreaks, if one is not very careful with their skin care in general.

Furthermore, sweat can make your foundation base pretty unstable and if you are a fan of liquid products such as mascara, eyeliner, lipgloss etc, you might experience a lot of unpleasant incidents such as products slipping into your eyes, hair getting stuck on your lipgloss etc,

So that said, i decided to
1) create a list of some tips which i personally use and i found useful, especially if you spent an entire day outdoors and you go training afterwards (aka having make up already on)
2) suggest a basic skin care/make up routine if you hit the gym WITHOUT being elsewhere before (aka you start with clear skin)

If that sounds interesting to you, let's get started :)

SECTION 1: GYM AFTER A LONG DAY OUT

Preparation is the key here. Let's say you put your make up on in the morning and you're training in the evening. You need to combat the major challenges of long-hour make up, so follow your usual routine but pay special attention to these:

1. Go for a deep cleanse first thing before you apply any make up. You don't want blocked pores.
-> moisturize with a product that is not oily. You need your skin to absorb moisture, be ellastic but not oily.

2. USE PRIMER!

Primers with matte finish, will not only help the make up spread evenly but will also regulate sufficiently the oil secretion throughout the day. Use eyeprimer or pressed powder as an eyemake up base to make sure your eyeshadows will be smudge/fall off free.

Post workout shot with full face(and quite heavy eye) make up on
(I have used W7 colour corrector primer and W7 Camera Ready Primer and i am really satisfied.

The next best alternative is The Mattifier Shine Control Primer by #Estee Lauder)

3. Use waterproof products for your mascara and eyeliner.

4. AVOID heavy make up in general (contouring, smokey eyes, heavy textures, fake lashes)

5. Use matte stay-on lipstick. (#W7 and #Maybelline MatteMe series are my personal favourites here)

6. Quick fix: IF your favourite lipstick is not matte, tap a small amount of translucent powder across your lips with your pinky finger.

7. Set everything up with a loose setting powder OR a setting spray, before you leave the house.

8. Carry the setting spray or loose powder with you and apply A SMALL quantity only on the parts of your face with major oil secretion, around 30 minutes prior you exercise.

I absolutely guarantee that your make up will stay there, intact, for AT LEAST 2 hours of training.

SECTION 2: LIGHT MAKE UP JUST FOR THE GYM

As i mentioned already, you need the skin as less heavily covered as possible. So if you start with bare clean skin, first thing is to clean and moisturize well. If you want just a light make up just for the gym, skip primer and foundation.

Just BB cream, lip balm (as blush), mascara
and  a very thin layer of matte lipstick
1. Go for a BB or CC cream, Pretty thin consistency, they provide some light coverage and colour, they moisturize and protect your skin at the same time.

2. You don't need setting spray or anything as you're heading shortly to the gym upon application. (Photo proof below)

3. Use a waterproof mascara

4. Apply tiny quantity of blush in CREAMY format (alternatively use red/pink lipstick). I have found out that the creamy consistency blends really nicely with the moisturized skin and stays there, smudge free.

5. Add your favourite lipbalm and (if desired) add some definition with a lip pencil on the outline and inner corners of your lipline.

BONUS: SKIP PARFUME! Alcohol based parfumes might irritate your skin, plus due to the sweat, the smell will be altered after a while. Shower before gym, use a deodorant and your favourite body water instead!

Close up  post workoutshot,  after almost 3 hours at the gym (1,5 of it was cardio with a lot of sweat)

That's it beauty queens! I hope this article was helpful for you makes you feel put-together and comfortable at all times, in and out of gym! Let me know if you would like me to make a video tutorial for any makeup routine of the sections above. Feel free to share these tips with your girls and I would love your comments, questions and requests as well as your pictures if you give those tips a shot. Keep shining,
Love

My TOP15 favourite summer outfits

Hello sweet poppies and welcome back to my blog! It's been quite a lot of time since I last posted a style-related article so this is gonna be interesting to add a dash of my personal aesthetic, after all this time.

Today I am gonna share with you my favourite outfits for mostly summer weather, based on my own style and preferences.

I mention that because fashion is what is trendy for a particular season and ends up outdated the next one. In contrast, style is the personal perspective around combinations that transmits emotions, thoughts and displays personality. Hence, when you have your own style, you can enhance and alter it here and then, but it will still work and be applicable after years.

Let's get started! (most photos have an arrow so that you can swipe for more detail pics)
